Whether you’re looking for personal development, business advice, or tips on how to be a healthier and happier human, here are some of my favorite books from my bookshelf.

UNTAMED | By Glennon Doyle

Have you ever felt stuck in the life you’re living? Or feel restless, but haven’t really pinned down why? When’s the last time you sat still long enough to really listen to your intuition? In Glennon Doyle’s latest book, “Untamed,” she teaches you the importance of just that. The power of connecting with your Inner Knowing. Glennon is like the big sister we all wanted but never got! Cool, confident, real, and does whatever in the hell she wants. But she wasn’t always this way…

Which is why this book is so incredibly powerful. Through her own stories, she gives women permission to step into our power, claim the life we’ve always wanted to be living, and be unapologetically ourselves. It’s freaking badass and will absolutely change your life too! We can never unlearn what we already know, and I can’t wait for you to grab your copy and start practicing the art of connecting with your true self again too!

THE UNIVERSE HAS YOUR BACK | By Gabrielle Bernstein

Gabrielle Bernstein is so much more than meets the eye. She opens up her first chapter by recounting her breakdown in the middle of a yoga class. A former drug addict, turned spiritual junkie, Gabby has made a life out of teaching others how to connect with their spirituality in whatever form that may take.

If you find yourself full of fear and trying to predict the future, this book is absolutely for you. It’s full of helpful practices I personally use often, such as “Choosing the next best thought” and reminding myself, “It’s good to feel good!” This book is also full of powerful meditations and will help you feel more grounded in moving forward in your life. And if you’re not a “woo biscuit,” don’t fret! This is probably one of the least-woo books she’s written.

EXPECTATION HANGOVER | By Christine Hassler

I’m not exaggerating when I say that Christine Hassler has profoundly impacted my life, even though we’ve never met. Both her book, “Expectation Hangover” and podcast, “Over It & On With It,” have taught me how to trust myself more and work through old wounds in a way that therapy never could. Her work inspired me to leave a toxic relationship and even start my own Coaching practice too.

So if you’re disappointed in how life has turned out and feel like you’re stuck in place, this book is absolutely for you. Christine outlines exercises, journal prompts, and activities that help you shake things up, connect with your inner child, get that anger out, and process the emotions that have been bottled up inside you for far too long! This work is powerful, impactful, and well worth the effort.

STOP DOING THAT SH*T | By Gary John Bishop

Do you ever envy those people who just get shit done? It feels like they know some secret we don’t or have a superpower we weren’t born with, right? Wrong…

Gary John Bishop is the pied piper of tough love and knows just how to propel you out of your funk and back into your life. He reminds you that your circumstances aren’t special, you CAN do the things, and that you’re just stuck in your own way. In this sequel to his first book, “UNFU*K Yourself,” he goes deeper into the HOW of actually shaking you out of your funk. If you want to laugh while you grow or aren’t the woo woo nurturing type, I can’t recommend this book enough!

EAT DIRT | By Dr. Josh Axe

Ever heard of leaky gut, but don’t exactly know what it means? Do you struggle with food allergies, chronic health issues, skin issues, depression, anxiety, or feel bloated every time you eat raw veggies? Then this book is absolutely for you!

In Dr. Axe’s book, he teaches you all about how gut health is so much more than a list of GI symptoms and how healing your gut can drastically improve your health and quality of life!

But if you’d rather start with a personalized approach to healing your gut with a strong support system in your corner? Then check out my Nutrition & Gut Health Coaching Program to learn more about how we can tackle your gut health and nutrition together, so you can start feeling better sooner and get on with your life!

THE FOUR TENDENCIES | By Gretchen Rubin

If you read no other book on this list, I think this should be the one. Or at least take Gretchen Rubin’s Four Tendencies Quiz to see what type you are! This is no ordinary, BS personality type book either… It’s a framework to help you identify how you personally handle both internal and external expectations, aka those you impose on yourself, versus those imposed on you by others.

I mean let’s be real… Ever start a new exercise routine or way of eating and then fizzle out within two weeks? This book will help you understand how you approach changing your habits, so you can work with what you’ve got, versus fight against your makeup! I use this quiz with every single health coaching client of mine, because knowing the answer to “how to get yourself to do the thing you truly want to do,” is POWER and will help you harness your habits in a way that works for you.

WHEN FOOD IS LOVE | By Geneen Roth

Do you think about food more often than you’d like? Or rake yourself over the coals when you eat something you think you shouldn’t have? Geneen Roth is one of the pioneers in bringing the topic of emotional eating into the light. Her books helped me heal my own relationship with food, a 10-year battle with an all-consuming eating disorder, and are one of the reasons why I’m passionate about helping my clients heal too. In one of her first books, “When Food is Love,” Geneen exposes how and why we turn to food for comfort, safety, love, and distraction.

Geneen’s stories are real, thought-provoking, and her dry, self-deprecating humor will crack you up! If you’re new to working on your relationship with food, this is the perfect book to get you going in the right direction.

GIRL WASH YOUR FACE | By Rachel Hollis

Ever felt not good enough, smart enough, beautiful enough, or capable enough? I mean, the “not enoughness” list could go on for days, right?! Which is exactly why this book by Rachel Hollis resonated so deeply with women all over the world.

Rachel is one of those women who has the ability to speak truth about hard stuff in a really funny way. By putting a name to the lies we all think, telling us a great story, and then inspiring us to change our mindsets too.

If you’re feeling stuck in the “not enoughness trap” too, this book is sure to help you shake it off, get back on your feet, and feel comforted in knowing you’re not alone on this path, Biscuit!

THE LATTE FACTOR | By David Bach

Despite what people say about this book, David Bach is not actually telling people to give up their coffee shop ritual. I mean, that would be total sacrilege in Seattle, right?! What David does say though, is that saving money doesn’t have to be as complicated or impossible as we think.

Rather than being a dry financial literacy book that most of us don’t really want to read, this is a parable about a 20-something, named Zoey, who desperately wants to create financial freedom, but is living under a pile of student loan and credit card debt. Sound familiar? It’s a quick read that’ll give you powerful first steps to start taking action towards your own financial freedom too. Something that will help take stress off your plate and give you the ability to make choices for your life that align with your values too.

Biscuit, this list is supposed to be inspirational, but if you’re feeling overwhelmed and stuck on a hamster wheel, then that’s my wheel-house! Pun intended…
