When I first met with Catherine I went into it with a mindset of I needed her to help me fix my body before my upcoming summer trip. I just needed to lose those last 7 pounds. I had been working out constantly and counting my calories. Catherine helped me see that I was making myself miserable and setting myself up for failure. She didn’t make me feel stupid, instead she asked me about where my desire to lose the weight was coming from. Was it really about the bikini? Actually no. Was I ready to binge on everything I had not allowed myself to eat for the past month? Hell yes! Catherine shook me out of my caloric starved tunnel vision, by helping me find meals that were satisfying and also taught me a killer bodyweight routine. But most importantly, she showed me the path to learning how to love my body again!

Working out with Catherine helped me understand my body much better. She is an advocate for self care-mind + body, which I think really aided me in achieving my goals. While helping me burn fat and lose inches she always reminded me that the mindful part of working out is just as important as the physical movements. This forced me to focus on the movements/mobility, slow down, and really start to understand what I was summoning my muscles/ body to do. Once she encouraged me to workout this way, I truly started to enjoy it. When I first came to Catherine, I had expressed that I was interested in targeting a specific part of my body. Instead of telling me I was being unrealistic, she made up workouts that were best for my goal, but I soon realized, with the her guidance and knowledge of our bodies, that my target area is connected to so many other parts of me that I didn’t realize were weak, therefore contributing to my “stubborn area”. She taught me what workouts would help my target area even when I wasn’t directly working that area out. I had pretty drastic surgeries in the past which made some workouts difficult. Catherine always had alternative options for me and would research my issues on her own time so she could come back and give me some pointers for daily stretches or new workouts we could try together. On top of all of this, she is fun, caring, diligent, energetic, and she loves what she does. She truly cares about her clients.
