As a Holistic Health Coach in Seattle, I do a lot of talking about nutrition and gut-health with my clients. And although I’ve been living both dairy and egg-free for years now due to my own food-intolerances, most people are NOT happy with me when I ask them to consider giving up either of the two!
But there is hope!
These brands of dairy-free and egg-free alternatives are seriously delicious and after a little time, I’m willing to bet you’ll barely miss your old favorites. Give them a try and I hope they elevate your meals to a new level and leave your heart a little happier!
Miyoko’s Butter
This is my favorite vegan butter, hands down, and is widely available now in most grocery stores! If you’re a real deal butter lover, do a blind taste test and let me know what you think!
Milkadamia Milk
I always recommend my clients vary their sources when choosing DF products and love that this milk comes from macadamia nuts! It’s relatively neutral in flavor and delicious for baking!
Siete Everything!
Biscuits... Where do I even begin. I think the only way to explain my undying love for this queso is to tell you that whenever I make Mexican food, which is as often as possible, I always pair this deliciousness with a bag of Siete lime tortilla chips and cassava flour tortillas.
Good Planet Sliced Cheese
This is a recent discovery in my house and I’m infinitely grateful for it! These are by far the best melting cheese slices I’ve found and they come in at least four flavors. They’re fantastic when melted in a wrap, as a quesadilla with grain-free tortillas, or on a burger too!
Violife Grated Cheese
Violife may be the dark horse of the DF cheese world, but damnation, it’s delicious! I love their grated cheese, cheese slices, and their Parmesan is pretty good too. Helpful hint: If you’re struggling to get your cheese to melt, tent your pan with foil as it needs a little moisture to melt well!
Miyoko’s Mozz Wedge
This is DELICIOUS when melted and added to a sauce, and is my go-to for creamy marinara butternut squash noodles! It adds just the right amount of creaminess and comfort to your meals!
JUST Egg
I LOVE that this egg replacer is pre-mixed and can be used in actual egg scramble form, unlike most of the others! It’s also great for baking and creates a fluffier texture in my favorite GF muffins than most of its powdery cousins.
Kite Hill
I first fell in love with their plain unsweetened almond-based yogurt for creating breakfast parfaits, but this chive cream cheese spread is perfect for a bagel, baked potato, or in a grain-free wrap! They also have Jalapeno & Everything flavors too.
Modern Table
Let’s be honest, most of us have great memories from childhood of Kraft Mac & Cheese with hot dogs or canned-tuna in my case! And this Modern Mac totally hits that cozy comfort button with a nice protein boost too!
